This could be a bit late for some people, but if you’re looking for something to do this weekend (Jul 11th – 12th) and you love glass then head over to Mt Coot-ha Botanical Gardens for Creative Glass Guild’s Annual Exhibition of Glass Works (then click on Exhibitions). I’ll be heading there tomorrow afternoon. I went last year and was really impressed with the amount and quality of the work. There was so much to see!
There’s jewellery, bowls, lamps and stained glass windows. People have been slumping, fusing, cutting and melting glass for weeks in preparation for this weekend. And Creative Glass Guild is the place where I did my beginners lampwork class, so I’m in big support of these glassy guys and gals.
Here’s the advert on Brisbane City Council’s website – you have scroll way way down.
And here’s some glass eye-candy for you because I think you can never look at too much glass. I have a macro lens and I spent some days taking photos. I had so much fun zooming into my beads, so here’s a photo of one of those sessions.
